Any Time Proofreading services include, but are not limited to, the following, ensuring your work is of the highest standard:

Correct spelling (client to advise preference for American or British English)

Ensure consistent use of terminology, headings, capitalisation, italics, hyphenation, acronyms, abbreviations, punctuation, and numbers (client to advise on the use of the Oxford comma)

Ensure correct use of apostrophes

Ensure consistency of font size and type

Eliminate redundancies and possible ambiguities

Edit tables, figures, and lists

Ensure correct word usage (comments will be provided)

Provide commentary on complex or incomplete sentences

Ensure correct use of in-text referencing style

My experience in proofreading is somewhat atypical. I took the scenic route to become a freelance proofreader, amongst several other paths.

Here are just a few of my stops along the way:

I was an executive assistant for many years, and proofreading and copyediting were integral to my roles within the various organisations I worked for. Over the years I was also exposed to corporate governance and developed a passion for the system of rules, practices, and processes by which organisations are directed and controlled.

I completed a BA in Health Sciences and Social Services—specialising in counselling psychology.

I completed a graduate diploma in marketing, a diploma in proofreading, a creative writing course, and courses on becoming an effective company secretary.

I’m a grammar nerd and I love everything about the English language. I enjoy researching how companies are governed and for what purpose. In this way, I ensure that my clients govern their organisations well and abide by the Companies Act and governance frameworks. Another passion of mine is improving the quality and quantity of website traffic to a website or web page through search engine optimisation.

I love my work and thoroughly enjoy working with my team. I leave the website development, design, and digital marketing strategies to my other colleagues. Together, we function like a well-oiled machine.

Unless requested otherwise, we will proofread your document using Microsoft Word’s Track Changes functionality, so you can see the changes we suggest.

When we have finished proofreading and copyediting your document, you are responsible for ensuring all track changes and comments are handled. We strongly recommend a thorough examination of your document is made before the final version is printed.

Any Time Proofreading services do not include critical reading from an academic perspective. All elements of this nature are to be clarified with your supervisor before the document is submitted to Any Time Proofreading.

Any Time Proofreading will not write or rewrite any part of your thesis or document on your behalf. The academic content is solely your responsibility.

Any Time Proofreading does not accept responsibility for the failure of any examination using academic material they have proofread or copyedited.

The comments and changes made by Any Time Proofreading are suggestions only and it is your decision to accept or reject these suggestions.

Any Time Proofreading accepts no responsibility for plagiarism in your writing.

Your written acceptance of the quote serves to form a binding agreement and these terms and conditions will apply.

A 50% deposit is required before work is commenced, and the remaining 50% is due and payable on completion of the work.

NOTE: For all other services, we liaise with the client on a per project basis and draft a Service Level Agreement (SLA) detailing the scope of work.
